How it works

From a sentence to files a manufacturer accepts.

  1. 01 · Describe

    Describe it.

    PCBSurf does
Asks only the questions that change the design.
    You do
    Answer, and confirm its assumptions.

    1. Lock what must not move

    2. Ask for the change

Lock the connectors first, as you would before asking for a smaller board.

    3. Decide the trade-off

Trade-offs come back to you as a question, and every change waits for your approval.

  4. 04 · Check & export

    Check it. Download the files.

    PCBSurf does
Runs checks in established EDA tools and reports every result.
    You do
Download KiCad, Gerber, drill, BOM and placement files.

12

Why is the sensor on its own tongue? To keep heat from skewing the reading.

Why does the antenna hang past the edge? Copper near it weakens the Wi-Fi.

FAQ

The questions people ask first.

These answers describe PCBSurf as it's being built. See what exists today.

Do I need to know electronics to use PCBSurf?

No. Describe what the board should do in your own words. PCBSurf asks about the things that change the design, such as how it's powered, and explains its choices in plain English. Have someone experienced review a board before you order it, as you would with any first design.

Will the AI invent a part, pinout or footprint?

PCBSurf only uses real parts. Chips, connectors and switches come with a manufacturer part number and a datasheet; passives by value, rating and size. Symbols and footprints come from checked library data. If no suitable part exists for what you asked, PCBSurf tells you instead of making one up. Checking the parts list against the datasheets is still part of reviewing any design.

Can I edit the design myself?

Yes. The schematic and PCB layout are editable: move and lock parts, change values, reroute tracks. When you then ask the AI for a change, it works around your edits and never moves anything you've locked. Its changes arrive as a proposal for you to review.

Who can see my designs? Do you train on them?

Your projects are private: only you and the people you invite can open them. We do not train AI models on your designs.

How does pricing work? Will I get surprise charges?

AI work such as generating a circuit or routing a board is metered, and PCBSurf shows what a run will use before it starts, so there are no surprise overages. Editing never needs an AI run. Manufacturing is paid to the manufacturer you choose.

Does PCBSurf manufacture or ship boards?

Not today. You download the manufacturing files and order boards from the manufacturer you choose; most accept Gerber, drill, BOM and pick-and-place files. If that changes, this answer will say so.

Start with a sentence

What will you build?
